This method effectively removes dirt, pathogens, and any residues from the hands. Alcohol-based sanitizers are a convenient alternative when soap and water are not readily available. They should contain at least 60% alcohol to be effective in killing germs.

Using only alcohol wipes or a wet cloth does not provide the same level of thorough cleaning. Alcohol wipes may not cover all areas of the hands effectively, and a wet cloth is generally insufficient for proper sanitization. Rinsing with water alone does not eliminate contaminants or pathogens present on the skin. Therefore, the combination of soap and water or a suitable hand sanitizer is the most effective means for barbers to ensure their hands are clean before providing services.
